Information on Israel real estate is to be found in several registers. The Land Registry is the office administered by the Ministry of Land Registration and Settlements. It includes nine regional offices for the registration of real estate. The department is engaged in both technical and legal work with real estate. It has been given broad administrative powers.
The department registers real estate in three types of land records:
- in the register of records (It records properties that have not gone through the process of registering property rights yet)
- in the real estate law register (Therein is registered a property that have completed all the necessary procedures)
- in the register of common living spaces (In it condominiums are registered.)
Not all properties are registered in the Land Registry, which is administered by the Ministry of Land Registry and Settlements.
Own registers are maintained by:
- Office of the Land of Israel
- Civil Administration of Judea, Shomron and the Gaza Strip
- Construction companies (which have not officially registered apartments built by them).
The Ministry of Land Registry and Settlements maintains an electronic public land registry in which the land data of real estate are registered. The search for information contained therein is based on the cadastral number of the land plot and the registration number. Access to the land register is subject to a fee. The electronic land register extract is for information purposes only.
The extract from the land register contains:
* some data may be unavailable for certain items, or may be provided for a fee.
The duration of information gathering varies and must be determined on an individual basis.
Inquiries are processed from 30 minutes.

The processing time for an electronic extract from the land register, provided that the required basic information is available, is in 2-3 working days (Provided that the information is contained in the electronic land register). The processing time to obtain documents with an apostille is approximately 2 weeks.
Land Registry Extracts of Israel are subject to Israel legislation and the Data Protection Law.
They can also request a certified translation of their documents into German or any foreign language.
Courier services are charged and invoiced separately according to the rates of the courier service.
Apostilled extracts from Israel
Israel joined the Hague Convention on simplified legalization of documents on November 11, 1977. Ever since August 14, 1978 the Convention came into force.
Therefore, all documents issued in Israel are subject to the simplified legalization procedure - apostille.
